Getting to Cornwall Gone are the days when Cornwall was remote and hard to reach, new and expanded links by road, rail and air make Cornwall more accessible than ever before, from all parts of the country and abroad. By Car. The motorway system feeding the M5 brings traffic swiftly to Exeter, where a choice of routes presents itself - A38 or A30. The A30 is more direct and now mainly dual carriageway. By Coach. There are daily Coach services from London, with additional National Express services to Plymouth, providing connections with the rest of the country throughout the year. They come straight in to Penzance, 3 miles from the cottage. You can catch the frequent bus from the same stop, which drops you yards from the Star Haze in Mousehole. By Rail. InterCity provides a fast direct service to Cornwall, from London, the Midlands, the North and Scotland. This is supplemented by regional services with mainline connections in St Austell, Truro, Penzance, Plymouth and Exeter. By Ferry. For visitors heading to Cornwall from Europe there is a choice of ferry link from Roscoff, in France or Santander, in Spain both to the nearby port of Plymouth. By Air. Newquay has it's own airport with regular flights to and from London, all connect to domestic, European and intercontinental flights. |
